The Seasonal Lens

As a bird photographer, I am not just a spectator but, rather, sync myself with the migration patterns and nesting cycles our my dearest feathered friends. I have consciously chosen images for this project that reflect this living calendar:

• Spring: The Zugunruhe or "migratory restlessness" of spring, local courtship, and vibrant plumages. (Germans have a word for everything! :)   

• Summer: Parents attention to their young and the charm of fledglings finding their wings.

• Autumn: Sweeping and cinematic migration movements.

• Winter: The stark, minimalist beauty of a single subject against an overcast sky or a snow-covered branch.
